My approach to psychotherapy is highly didactic and integrated. I utilize a psychodynamic model that is heavily influenced by a variety of disciplines. My style reflects my philosophy that no two people are alike and therefore not treatment modality sufficiently addresses each individual. I approach each patient and each session with an openness to what would be most adaptive, therapeutic, and ultimately healing at any particular time.

The therapeutic bond is a major focus in my work.  Much of one's suffering frequently pertains to challenges in childhood and later on in adulthood. Focusing on the therapeutic relationship begins the process of being able to recreate/address painful relationship/attachement styles.

I trained at the Institute for Psychoanalytic Training and Research (IPTAR), the New York Psychoanalytic Society and Institute, and at the Contemporary Freudian Society. I also trained in Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy at Newark Beth Israel Hospital and worked with patients with severe trauma. Additionally, I trained at Mount Sinai Hospital where I worked with an in-patient population, conducting psychotherapy and psychological assessments.

I am always hopeful that the work we do in treatment results in empowering one's sense of self, vitiate important life changes, and enables a lifestyle that feels wholesome, gratifying, and complete. Psychotherapy is a healing modality as well as major life journey. Together, we can navigate it in a realistic and healthy manner.

I will help with processing insurance claims and other insurance related issues.
